
Negros displaced workers receive TUPAD payouts
Capitol photoGovernor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payouts to about a hundred beneficiaries from the cities of Silay and Talisay in Negros Occidental on Friday, October 29.TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed, a press release from the Capitol said.The beneficiaries are the unemployed, displaced OFWs, disadvantaged workers such as laborers, farmers, solo parent, vendors, tricycle drivers, and fisherfolks, it added.They received P5,925 (P395 per day for 15 days).Th...
