Team Philippines led by Negrense Ines Lovina Santiago beat athletes from Japan and Australia to win the Ironman Asia Pacific Virtual Race Team Challenge Friday morning. The Philippine Team won $5,000, which they are donating to the Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC) Foundation, said Santiago, who grew up in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental. “Our team raced for the benefit of the NVC Foundation's Mingo Feeding Program. This initiative has continued to feed and monitor malnourished children in impoverished parts of the Philippines while at the same time providing livelihood to local farmers”, she said. City PIO photo San Carlos City through its City Sports Office kicked off its 1st Mayor's Cup Badminton Tournament at the City Sports Complex on December 3. The tournament includes varsity (men’s doubles), 30-up (women’s and men’s doubles), 50-up, and city officials (men’s doubles) categories. Gilberto Repetillo, badminton in-charge, said that the tournament was supposed to last for two days but with the pandemic, they plan to extend it to have a manageable number of players in every session and to strictly apply social distancing.*
