Sugarcane worker injures 3 in Silay stabbing incident

Three persons were injured after a sugarcane worker stabbed and hit them while they were drinking liquor in Hacienda Margasa 2, Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, Jan. 5, the police reported on Monday.

The three aged 20, 45, and 18, were injured by alias “Jhenus”, 37, when a commotion ensued at about 5:30 p.m., the police said.

One of the victims punched the suspect prompting him to run to his house to get a bladed weapon to stab the victim.

Another victim tried to pacify the suspect but she was slashed by the suspect in her right arm.

He hit a third victim on the head with a pitcher.

The victims were brought to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, while the suspect was arrested by a barangay tanod.

He is now under the custody of the police.*
