Negros Occidental security forces and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) officials met at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Bacolod City, on Friday, November 19, to discuss measures for the peaceful conduct of the May 9, 2022 polls.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), 303rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard Station – Negros Occidental and COMELEC Negros Occidental officials convened the Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council (JPSCC), a NOCPPO press release said.
The agenda of the meeting was to strengthen coordination and interoperability among the security forces through the coordinating council, especially in preparation for the upcoming polls, to include increased monitoring of possible election hotspot areas, it said.
BGen. Inocencio Pasaporte – Army 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, PCol. Romy Palgue – NOCPPO provincial director and CG Capt. Ludovico Librilla Jr. – Coast Guard Station- Neg. Occ. Commander, are the co-chairpersons of the Negros Occidental provincial JPSCC, the press release said.
Bacolod Election Officer Kathrina Trinio- Caňa and Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee M. Ananoria discussed COMELEC Resolution No. 10695 that sets the calendar of activities for the elections, to include the prohibited acts.*
