Kwizko ni Kiko championship face-off set October 23

Who will emerge as champion in the final round of the 1st Kwizko ni Cong. Kiko quiz bee competition?

Fifteen Grade 10 students from the Third District of Negros Occidental will compete for the title at the Technological University of the Phil.-Visayas gymnasium in Talisay City starting 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, a press release said.

Finalists from Victorias City are Jozh Pruellene F. Romaquin – Victorias National High School, Chester M. Abanggan – Negros Occ. National Science High School, and Libert A. Villaruel – Brgy. Estado National High School .

Those from EB Magalona are Joshua G. Eso – Tanza National High School, and Christine Mae Tramado and Paul AntawnB. Guinalon from Enrique B. Magalona National High School .

Finalists from Silay City are Bea Marie T. Alisbo – Brgy. Guimbalaon National High School , and Anika A. Hinolan and Marianne Asley P. Villeta of the Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School.

Talisay City competitors are Ranaelah B. Gamboa – Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School, Meryll I. Millan – Dr. Antonio A, Lizares Memorial High School and Neljhon Philip R. Llanes – Don Hilarion G. Gonzaga Memorial High School .

Finalists from Murcia are Rachel Ricablanca – Cansilayan National High School, Claire Jaud – Lopez Jaena National High School and Melancholy Danielle Barot – Murcia Open Bible Christian Academy.

The 1st Kwizko ni Cong. Kiko is a quiz bee challenge open only to Grade 10 high school students who are residents and enrolled in the Third District secondary schools, the press release said.

The district-wide academic competition covers Mathematics, Science and Technology, Language, Reading and Literature, Social Studies and Current Events, with contest questions prepared under the supervision of the Division of Professional Education of the University of the Philippines-Visayas, Iloilo campus.

Cash prizes and laptops await the top three winners, the press release said.

Kwizko is a project of Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) in partnership with the Department of Education Negros Occidental Schools Division and the Silay City Schools Division, the Local Government Units, and the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, and TUP-V.
