Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Friday, December, 17, appealed to the private sector for help for the Typhoon “Odette” victims.
“If you are thinking of helping the typhoon victims I would suggest that food would be appreciated, especially rice,” said Lacson, who was holding office at the typhoon response command center at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
“The province is willing to connect you to these affected individuals for your contribution,” he said.
“Due to the extent of the damage caused by Super Typhoon ‘Odette,’ I appeal to those who can share your kind assistance with your fellow Negrenses,” Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer also appealed.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the donation center is at the Negros Occidental Multipurpose Center at Aguinaldo Street in Bacolod City.
It is where the social welfare office is located and donors can look for Arnel Argusar, he said.
The provincial government has sent out food assistance to those affected by the typhoon but more help will be appreciated, he said.*
