The former top cop of Bacolod City is now the director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas.

Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo replaced Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda as head of the police regional office, with the turnover of command led by Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar at Camp General Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City on Wednesday, November 10.

Miranda, who had served PRO-6 since December 2020, retired from the service Wednesday.

Both Miranda and Dongbo were classmates at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1990.

Prior to Dongbo’s new assignment in the region, he was the director and deputy director of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), respectively.

Dongbo, who is from Benguet, was also the director of the Bacolod City Police Office in 2016.

In his message, Eleazar said that Dongbo is “equally hardworking” like his predecessor, and that “I trust that he would continue the instituted reforms.”

He also thanked Miranda for serving the public for three decades, and “we have witnessed how you (Miranda) lead PRO-6 on the different programs, thrust and activities of the PNP and government, and we are very much thankful for that.”*
