Businesses registered in Bacolod up by 17%

Bacolod City registered 18, 847 businesses from the start of the year to February 14, which is a 17 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

There were 16,078 who registered in the same period last year, Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division head Stella Rose Rayos said on Thursday, February 16.

She said 7,600 of the 18,847 have already been issued their business permits while the rest are processing various requirements.

The Business-One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) of Bacolod City at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central ended and those who wish to renew or apply for business permits will now have to go to the Bacolod City Government Center, she said.

Those renewing their business permits will have to pay a 25 percent surcharge and a 2 percent per month penalty, Rayos said.

She said most of the new business permits sought were for restaurants, coffee shops, construction services and water refilling stations.

The joint inspection team of the City Legal Office and Permits and Licensing Division will begin visiting businesses in Bacolod that failed to avail of business permits in March.*
