The man who was shot in San Carlos City, Tuesday, July 26.*San Carlos PNP photoA 43-year-old man was injured after he was shot by responding policemen at Barangay Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Tuesday, July 26.Based on the initial police investigation, the two policemen responded after a suspicious person was seen carrying a weapon.The suspect identified as Ramonito Tura, of Barangay Punao, San Carlos City, pointed his gun at the policemen that prompted them to shoot, the police report said.It was later discovered that the man was only carrying a toy gun.The man was said to be suffering from mental problems.He is being treated at the San Carlos City Hospital.*

An agrarian reform beneficiary was shot to death in his farm at Brgy. Libertad, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, Friday, July 22.Killed was 41-year-old Hadjen Casipong.The victim was cultivating his land when six unidentified armed men arrived and shot him multiple times. He died on the spot.Recovered from the scene were one fired cartridge of  a .45 caliber pistol and three fired cartridges of  an AK-47 rifle.The perpetrators escaped to the mountainous part of the area.The police have  yet to establish the motive for the killing.*

The police have filed charges against  an  American  for the death of his wife, who was found buried in their property at Barangay Palinpinon in Valencia, Negros Orientalm on Wednesday, July 20.A case of parricide was filed against Daniel Glazier, while his new partner was charged with murder for the death of  Maribel Glazier, 32, the police said Friday, July 22.Glazier was discovered in one of their properties after she was reported missing last week.Maj. Roger Quijano, Valencia police chief,  said before the incident the victim left a letter with her friends saying that if anything happened to her, they should look for her husband.The police are looking at a love triangle and a  property dispute as the motives behind the behind the killing of the wife....

Jalandon in Brgy. 6,  Bacolod City, Thursday, July 21.Killed was 70-year-old Rosalinda Filiu, a street cleaner of the barangay.Initial investigation showed that she walking when she was bumped by the trailer truck driven by Leo Barona, 32, of Brgy. Idlaw-an, Murcia.The suspect reportedly failed to notice the victim, who was on the driver’s blind spot.The victim was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center  but she didn’t make it.The suspect who surrendered to the authorities was released from custody Friday, July 22, following a settlement with the woman’s family.*
