A 19-year-old psychology student at STI West Negros University was crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025 of Cadiz City at the Cadiz Arena Thursday night, January 23.
Angel Mae Baldoquin, who bested nine other contestants, was crowned by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., First Lady Mariel Escalante and Dinagsa Queen 2024 Ayah Jane Sucajel.
Baldoquin took home a P50,000 cash prize.
Chelcie Chassandra Binoya and Rochelle Ramos were named first and second runners-up, respectively.
Binoya won P40,000 while Ramos was P30,000 richer that night.
Movie and television actor Gab Lagman serenaded the candidates, adding flavor to the coronation night.
Baldoquin said “I feel overwhelmed and honored to be crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025. I am determined to fulfill my responsibilities by serving the people of Cadiz City to the best of my abilities.”
She highlighted the importance of self-belief and uniqueness as key factors in her success being a certified morena.
“My own uniqueness gave me strength throughout this journey. I want to use my title to inspire the youth and all Cadiznons to remain motivated and work together for a progressive future,” the newly-crowned Dinagsa Queen said.
She also dedicated her victory to her parents, who are working abroad (in Poland), saying, “Even though they are far away, their unwavering support and love has kept me going.” *
