The power rates in northern and southern Negros Occidental have dropped by P2.8376 and P3.8983, respectively, this October.The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) announced Wednesday, October 20, that its power rate for October is P11.1328 per kWh or a decrease of P2.8376 from last month.The decrease is because of the low cost of electricity purchased from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) with an average price of P3.5585 per kWh, and the deferment in the collection of congestion cost and line rental until the restoration of the damaged National Grid Corporation of the Philippines Cebu-Negros submarine cable, a NONECO advisory said.It is also caused by the refund of congestion and other applicable charges, it added.The Negros Occidental Electric Coopera...
