House to probe Visayas power crisis in Bacolod hearing

Three committees of the House of Representatives will hold a public hearing to look into recurring power outages and other electricity supply problems affecting the Visayas Grid in Bacolod City on Saturday, Oct. 3.The hearing will be jointly conducted by the House committees on Energy, Visayas Development, and Legislative Franchises from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at L’Fisher Hotel.Among the measures to be discussed is House Resolution No. 1429 filed by Deputy Speaker and Bacolod Rep. A 28-year-old man was arrested after police seized an estimated P102,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 30.Police identified the suspect as alias Jee, a resident of Brgy.
