Fifteen women will represent 15 barangays in Miss Bacolod MassKara 2026 as the pageant introduces a community-based format and puts a “Celebration of Women” at the center of this year’s competition.
The Bacolod Gugma Foundation, organizer of the MassKara Festival 2026, said on Wednesday, Sept. 30, that this will be the first time candidates will officially represent barangays in the pageant.
The candidates are Aleyssa Dionio of Alijis, Hannah Damasco of Brgy. 29, Margarette Ymballa of Taculing, Jasper Anne Lucero of Mandalagan, Ma. Zonora Ellyssa Curaza of Sum-ag, Eurica Cielo Abarro of Estefania, Ashley Nicole Andrade of Granada;
Jeaven Icy Musni of Tangub, Julie Mikayla Borja of Mansilingan, Lourdeth Codico of Bata, Macy Alaine Albarico of Singcang, Daniella Louisse Merelos of Brgy. 32, Krizza May Fernando of Cabug, Zoe Dorothy Ardiente of Villamonte, and Kyla Aligaga of Pahanocoy.
The competition begins with the Talent Competition and Press Presentation at Ayala Malls Capitol Central on Friday, Oct. 2.
Each candidate will draw inspiration from a Bacoleña who has made an impact in her chosen field as part of the talent competition.
Two media awards will also be introduced during the press presentation, with members of legacy and online media selecting separate Muses of the Press.
Barangay identity will be highlighted during the Festival Costume Competition on Oct. 4, with candidates wearing costumes inspired by the icons, traditions, products, history or other elements associated with their respective communities.
Corporate Day will follow on Oct. 9 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
The pageant will culminate with the coronation night at the STI West Negros Gymnasium on Oct. 11.
The opening production will take inspiration from MassKara, while the swimwear segment will highlight Bacolod’s food and pasalubong identity.
The gown competition will pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Bacolod City Public Plaza.
STI West Negros will serve as the venue partner, sponsor and official tabulation team for the coronation night.
The winner will succeed Miss Bacolod MassKara 2025 Sophia Kaye Zaragoza.*
