
Expected heavy ‘Inday’ rains trigger suspension of classes Friday, preemptive evacuation
Classes in Negros Oriental, Bacolod City, and several other areas in Negros Occidental have been suspended on Friday, July 10, amid expected heavy rainfall and strong winds brought on by Typhoon “Inday” and the Southwest Monsoon.Gov. Manuel Sagarbarria issued an executive order extending the suspension of all classes in Negros Oriental until Friday.Mayor Greg Gasataya ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in public and private schools in Bacolod City.Schools are encouraged to shift to modular distance learning, performance tasks, and projects to ensure that learning competencies are met, he said.Among the other areas where classes are also suspended on Friday are San Carlos City, Talisay City, Silay City, Bago City, La Castellana, and Hinigaran.
