The San Carlos City government will not allow vendors and market goers who are not fully vaccinated inside the Jose V. Valmayor Jr. Public Market starting November 30 as a deterrent against the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Renato Gustilo said Thursday, October 21.

Gustilo issued Executive Order No. 197, Series of 2021 requiring all vendors inside the Jose V. Valmayor Jr. Public Market to undergo COVID-19 vaccination and regulating the entry of individuals effective November 30.

Effective November 30 only vaccinated vendors, market goers and employees reporting to the market who present their vaccination cards or vaccination details on the Vamos Cares app will be allowed to enter the public market, Gustilo said.

The mandatory wearing of face masks and shields inside the public market will still be required, he added.

Gustilo said City Health Office personnel on Tuesday went to the public market and vaccinated about 140 people, and is set to inoculate more.

Gustilo appealed to the public to get vaccinated to achieve herd immunity so everybody can go back to their normal lives soon.*
