Road rage eyed in soldier’s slay

The Army is looking at possible road rage as the reason for a soldier’s being shot dead in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, on Monday, Feb. 17.

Lt. Dan Carlo Samoza, 79th Infantry Battalion Civil Military Operations Officer, said that based on initial information Staff Sgt. Alfort Tito who was onboard a motorcycle overtook the suspects , which could have angered them.

The suspects, identified as Jobert Gimarangan and Alfie Raganas, were arrested by the police with suspected shabu worth P1.1 million, firearms and a grenade.

When the victim overtook the suspects, they followed him and shot him multiple times, Samoza said.

The victim despite sustaining multiple gunshot wounds is now in stable condition, he added.*
