The provincial office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental will soon rise in Silay City.
This was tackled during the meeting of Mayor Mark Golez and PDEA Region 6 officials led by its regional director Alex Tablate, who was joined by assistant regional director Donelyn Hemedez, and members of the Regional Barangay Drug Clearing Program Team (RBDCPT) at the Mayor’s Office Tuesday, August 10.
The city government will provide the agency with a lot in the locality, which is an ideal site for the PDEA Negros Occidental provincial office, it said in a press release.
Golez has expressed his full support in providing logistical needs and assistance in the anti-drug efforts of PDEA-NOCPO.
According to PDEA, the building “will be the first of its kind in the region,” adding that its funding was facilitated by Abang-Lingkod party-list Rep. Stephen Paduano.
Meanwhile, Hemedez and the Silay City Anti-Drug Abuse Council will convene to introduce the concept of a Balay Silangan Reformation Center, which is a shelter intended to reform drug offenders into self-sufficient and law-abiding members of society.*
