P45M fire station to rise at Megaworld’s The Upper East

Property giant Megaworld is allocating more than 2,000 square meters of land within its 34-hectare The Upper East township to the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and  Industry Inc. (BFCCCII) for the construction of the city’s P45-million two-story fire station.

The modern facility will rise at the corner of Burgos Street and Cornell Loop and is expected to strengthen emergency response capabilities within The Upper East and nearby communities to further support Bacolod City’s continued growth and urban development. a press release from Megaworld said Wednesday, June 17.

“We believe that building sustainable townships also entails investing in infrastructure and

essential services that enable communities to thrive, remain resilient, and stay protected. This initiative together with the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and & Industry Inc. reflects our long-term commitment to creating safer and stronger communities in localities where we build our townships,”  Don Earl Caagbay, Megaworld  head of Estate Management,  said.

Designed to serve as a vital hub for emergency and disaster response, the new fire station will feature ample space to accommodate around 20 emergency response vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances.

The facility will also include a state-of-the-art operations command center, administrative offices, a lecture and training room, a receiving area, dedicated lockers, sleeping quarters, and comfort rooms for male and female personnel, an exercise area, kitchen, pantry, and storage and utility spaces, the press release said.

A four-story drill tower will also rise within the complex, providing firefighters with a dedicated training facility to enhance operational readiness and emergency response skills.

The project underscores the shared commitment of Megaworld and BFCCCII to help create safer, more resilient communities while supporting Bacolod City’s long-term development goals, the press release said.*
