One killed, another injured in Silay stabbing incidents

An Iloilo resident was killed and another was injured in two separate stabbing incidents in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, Nov. 26.

The 40-year-old man from Passi City, Iloilo, was stabbed by an unidentified suspect during a commotion at Sitio Ipil-Ipil, Brgy. Mambulac, at about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim was temporarily residing Mambulac.

The victim was at a dance hall when a commotion occurred and he tried to pacify those involved, the police said.

He was stabbed by an unidentified suspect hitting his chest and abdomen.

The victim was brought to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay but was declared dead, while the suspect fled.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man was also injured after a 48-year-old man stabbed him multiple times at PLDT Baybay in Mambulac at around 2:25 a.m. Sunday.

The victim and his co-workers were drinking when the suspect arrived and confronted him.

When a heated argument ensued, the suspect stabbed the victim several times on his temple, neck, armpit, and upper arm, the police reported.

The victim was rushed to TLJPH, while the suspect fled, the police added.*
