Laban Leni volunteers joining ‘Lugaw Leni’ nationwide party

The Laban Leni Negros Occidental (LLNO) volunteers’ are holding “Lugaw Leni” events for more than 7,000 beneficiaries in nine towns and cities in the province as part of their participation in the nationwide feeding program identified with Vice President Leni Robredo on Saturday, November 20.

“It’s amazing how people generously respond to such activities that promote sharing, kindness and love,” LLNO spokesperson, lawyer Pinky Mirano-Ocampo, said Friday.

When the nationwide event was announced by the national Leni campaign team, “we initially targeted just 1,000 people but within two days, we were beyond the 2,000 and so we challenged ourselves further to target 5,000 beneficiaries”, she said.

On Friday, however, more groups were joining and based on the list submitted, so more than 7,000 people will partake in the lugaw party all over the province, Ocampo added.

Most volunteer groups will conduct their Lugaw Leni activity in 12 barangays in Bacolod, covering over 3,000 beneficiaries followed by Victorias where the Leni group has targeted 1,200 people, she said.

Lugaw parties will also be conducted in the cities of Talisay, La Carlota, Bago, Sipalay, San Carlos, Kabankalan and the municipality of Toboso.

“The volunteerism is simply amazing and apart from giving out lugaws and pink pan de sal, our volunteers will also be conducting teach-ins and hand out materials like leaflets and komiks so the people will know who is Leni Robredo and why she merits the presidency in the coming election,” Ocampo said, adding that all materials and consumables were donated by LLNO volunteers and supporters. *
