‘Jojaju’ Bacolaodiat fest street dance champion

The “Jojaju” performers from Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City, were declared the champions of this year’s Bacolaodiat Festival Street and Lantern Dance Competition at the awarding rites on Sunday, February 11.

Jojaju bested five other contingents and brought home a P100,000 cash prize.

“The Breaxers” team was declared first runner-up and received P80,000, while “The Luminaries” was 2nd runner-up and received P60,000.

The Breaxers, which was last year’s champion, won the best in costume and best lantern awards this year, and received P20,000 for each.

Other contingents were the Luminaries, Ugyon Dance Troupe, CHMSU-Alijisnon, and Next Power Generation.

CHMSU-Alijisnon team was also awarded as netizen’s choice and received P10,000.

Meanwhile, Christopher Cape was declared champion in the Dragon Lantern Making Contest while Ebenezer Ursos Jr. and Alvin Infante were first and second runners-up, respectively.

Heaven Scale Ezreel was declared champion in the Chinese Cosplay competition followed by Jerby Alvarez and Monkey King Sun Woking as first and second runners-up.

In the Dragon Fantasy Costume contest the entry of Philippe Briones won 1st place, Don Aventura – 2nd Place, and Mark Anthony Tronggoy – 3rd Place.*
