Guv turns over P38.5M for Negros school projects

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson turned P38,350,000 in checks to the Department of Education – Division of Negros Occidental, Neg. Occ. High School (NOHS), and Neg. Occ. National Science High School (NONSHS) Monday, May 24, for the implementation of Special Education Fund Projects in public schools in the province.

The checks were received by the district supervisors under DepEd – Division of Negros Occidental and other school beneficiaries, at the turn over ceremony held at the Capitol Grounds in Bacolod City.

The district schools of Moises Padilla, Don Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Murcia, Pontevedra, EB Magalona, Valladolid, Toboso, Hinigaran, and Ilog received P3 million each for the various priority projects; NOHS received P5 million subsidy for its operations including small infra projects and payment for utilities, security and non-teaching personnel; while NONSHS received P3,350,000 for various school operations and projects.

Present in the turn over were Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator, Rayfrando Diaz, DepEd – Negros Occidental Schools Division Superintendent, Marsette Sabbaluca, Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Lynee Penaflor and Sally Senayo, NOHS Principal Mario Amaca, and NOSNHS – Victorias Campus Principal, Emma Dequito, among others.*
