The 5th Most Wanted Person in Negros Oriental was arrested during a manhunt operation in Santa Catalina town on Saturday morning, July 11.
Personnel of the Santa Catalina Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit-Negros Island Region and units of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force, carried out the operation at around 9:38 a.m.. the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) reported.
The suspect, whose name was withheld by the police, was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for the crimes of murder and attempted murder.
NOrPPO said the arrest forms part of its intensified campaign against wanted persons, particularly those facing serious criminal charges.
The provincial police office added that it will continue intelligence-driven manhunt operations and strengthen coordination among law enforcement units to ensure fugitives are brought before the courts.*
