Classes suspended on Friday in Negros provinces, Bacolod

Classes have been suspended again on Friday, July 18, in 24 towns and cities across Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, with Tropical Depression “Crising” and the Southwest Monsoon expected to bring more rains.

Negros Oriental Governor Manuel Sagarbarria also announced the suspension of all classes in public and private schools throughout his province on Friday.

“This measure is a precautionary response to the ongoing heavy rains and flooding,” Sagarbarria said.

“The safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel continue to be the top priority of the provincial government”, he reiterated.

The Negros Occidental localities that have suspended classes at all levels include:

  4. Candoni
  5. La Carlota
  6. Valladolid
  7. Hinigaran
  8. Talisay
  9. Hinoba-an
  10. Silay
  11. Bago
  12. Cauayan
  13. Ilog
  14. Himamaylan
  15. Isabela
  16. Moises Padilla
  17. Don Salvador Benedicto
  18. Binalbagan
  19. Pontevedra
  20. Kabankalan
  21. Pulupandan
  22. Murcia
  23. Bacolod City
  24. E.B. Magalona

  25. E.B. Magalona Mayor Matthew Malacon initially announced the resumption of classes in his town on Friday but later reversed the decision, suspending them again.
  26. Classes at all levels in Victorias City will resume on Friday.*
