Capitol supporting Bacolod with ‘MassKara sa Panaad’

The Negros Occidental provincial government is staging a “MassKara sa Panaad” in support of Bacolod City’s festivities in October, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Friday, August  12.

Local government booths will open to sell goods and activities will also be staged at the Panaad Park in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod, during the MassKara Festival, he said.

Diaz said provincial government officials, including its tourism officers and representatives of the Association of Negros Producers, met with Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Thursday to discuss programs that Negros Occidental and Bacolod City can jointly undertake.

They discussed the MassKara Festival to be held in Bacolod City in October and the Negros Trade Fair in Makati City in September.

They are also bracing for a lot of conventions to be held in Bacolod City, which will also help Negros Occidental’s tourism industry, Diaz said.

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers’ officials have met with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Benitez to inform them that they will be bringing about 6,000 people to  Bacolod for a face-to face convention, he said.

Diaz said with Negros Occidental and Bacolod City working together group tours for tourists can also be held on a daily basis.*
