Riverside Medical Center, Inc. (RMCI), in partnership with the Office of Representative Javier Miguel “Javi” L. Benitez, completed the “Ikaayong Lawas On Wheels Serbisyo Mediko sa Tersero Distrito,” a mobile medical services program that served 5,333 beneficiaries across the Third Legislative District of Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, November 4.
The program held its final visit in Talisay City, serving 217 beneficiaries, a press release from the office of Benitez said.
Since its launch on March 2, medical teams have conducted 35 visits covering the 115 barangays of Victorias City, E.B. Magalona, Silay City, Talisay City, and Murcia.
E.B. Magalona served the most residents with 1,186 beneficiaries. Talisay City followed with 1,123, then Murcia with 1,010, Silay City with 1,008, and Victorias City with 1,006.
A total of P14 million in Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIPP) funds was allocated for the program.

The program prioritized senior citizens, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and indigent families in geographically isolated areas.
Beneficiaries received a health package that included blood tests for FBS, cholesterol, and creatinine, along with CBC, chest X-rays, and ECGs.
Slots were allocated per barangay, beneficiaries’ documents were verified on-site, and services were provided the same day.
In line with the Universal Health Care Act, the program brought primary care and early disease detection to the barangay level.
RMCI and the congressional office thank the local government units, barangay officials, barangay health workers, medical teams, and partner agencies who made each visit possible, and the residents who took part in every session, the press release said. *
