The more than 3,000 employees of the Negros Occidental provincial government will receive bonuses in December that will be bigger than what they received last year, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Monday, November 22.
The exact amount will be announced by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, he said.
The provincial government employees received P40,000 bonuses in December last year.
The provincial government has released their 14th month pay equivalent to one month’s salary and P5,000 bonus for regular and casual employees this month, Diaz said.
Diaz said there has been no decision yet on whether the provincial government will return to a five-day work week.
Lacson earlier reduced the work week to four days amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We need to see if the drop in COVID-19 cases in the province can be sustained before any decision can be made,” Diaz said.*
