Police recovered an illegal firearm and ammunition during a search warrant operation in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City, early Wednesday morning, April 29.
Authorities said the search warrant was issued after multiple reports that a suspect, identified as alias “Joe,” had been seen carrying and allegedly discharging a firearm, causing alarm among residents.
Police verification showed that the suspect was not a licensed firearm holder, prompting authorities to secure a search warrant.
Recovered during the operation were a .38 caliber revolver and five rounds of live ammunition.
The items were properly marked and inventoried at the scene in the presence of witnesses and in accordance with legal procedures.
Police said the firearm and ammunition will undergo forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.*
