The Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade in Bacolod City has opened applications for individuals who want to train and serve as volunteer rescue technicians.

Applicants are required to submit a fully accomplished Amity application form, two 2×2 photos with white background, a photocopy of their birth certificate, and photocopies of two valid identification cards.
Amity said applicants will undergo screening, a panel interview, orientation, assessment and training before becoming part of the volunteer rescue program.
The interview will assess an applicant’s motivation, availability, attitude, commitment and understanding of volunteer service.
Those who proceed will undergo training for about six to 12 months, including a probationary period, with schedules conducted either on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Training will combine classroom learning, practical exercises, physical activities, field work and scenario-based exercises.
Subjects may include first aid and emergency medical response, basic life support and CPR, rescue techniques, search and rescue, mountain and water search and rescue, fire and emergency response, incident command, hazard identification and disaster response.
Trainees will also undergo physical conditioning and practical field exercises aimed at preparing them to work safely and effectively as part of a rescue team.
Amity said it expects trainees to demonstrate commitment, discipline, teamwork, safety awareness and willingness to learn throughout the program.
The organization stressed that applicants should understand the demands of volunteer emergency service before joining, as rescue technicians may be called upon during emergencies.
Applications may be submitted at the Amity Building along Hilado Street, Capitol Shopping Center, Brgy. 17, Bacolod City.
Amity said the recruitment is intended to develop volunteers who can assist in emergency response and community rescue operations.*
