20 Capitol employees test positive for drugs

Drugs tests were conducted at the Capitol in Bacolod City.*

A total of 20 Negros Occidental provincial government employees tested positive for the use of drugs this week, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, Dec. 14.

He said 19 tested positive for the use of shabu and one for marijuana.

There were 16 others whose test results had faint traces of shabu use, Diaz added.

All 36 will be subjected to confirmatory drugs tests, he said.

The 36 were among 2,300 Negros Occidental provincial government officials and employees who underwent drug tests on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 11 and 12.

They may not have enough test kits for the employees of the provincial government hospitals so they will have to make another purchase order, Diaz said.*
