Two employees of an Iloilo-based newspaper were trapped in the elevator of the Bacolod City Government Center on Friday morning, February 10.
They were freed after utility workers opened the elevator doors.
One of those rescued said they were trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes.
The elevator is temporarily not in use, Carmela Arcolas Gamboa, Bacolod Public Information Officer, said.
Engineer Amy Tentia of the Office of the Building Administration said the two electronic boards of the elevator are broken, Gamboa added.
They will have to be replaced before the elevator can function again, she added.*
