Woman on drug watchlist killed in San Carlos: PNP

A woman on the police drug watchlist was shot to death in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, October 26.

Ma. Regina Bascones, 38, of Brgy. 2, San Carlos City, was shot twice on the head and back by an unidentified suspect, resulting in her instantaneous death.

San Carlos City deputy police chief, Maj. Ryan Villasario, told DIGICAST NEGROS that the victim was previously arrested for illegal drugs and had availed of probation.

The police are looking into the possibility that the incident was related to illegal drugs.

A witness heard two gunshots in the area and the police saw the victim lying in an alley.

Villasario said that they already have persons of interest but they are still validating the evidence while conducting pursuit operations.

Recovered from the crime scene were an empty shell of a .45 caliber gun, one slug, a cellphone, and a power bank.*
