A woman was killed while her husband was injured after the tricycle they were riding collided with a truck at the Circumferential Road in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, early Wednesday morning, Feb. 25.
The fatality was identified as Jovelyn Amion, 33, a resident of Brgy. Busay, Bago City.
The tricycle driver and husband of the victim was identified as Marlon Amion, 47, a resident of Brgy. Lopez Jaena, Silay City.
The truck driver was identified as Jocel Ballesteros, 39, a resident of Brgy. Fabrica, Sagay City.
A Traffic Enforcement Unit investigation report said the tricycle was traveling from north to south while the truck was headed east.
Police said the vehicles collided upon reaching the area of the accident, resulting in injuries to the victims.
The woman was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead.
The truck driver is in police custody while authorities await the family’s decision on whether to pursue charges or enter into an amicable settlement.*
