The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has awarded Victorias City a Special Award for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance for CY 2024 under the Local DRRM Councils and Offices category.
The NDRRMC informed Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez that Victorias City was declared fully compliant with the Gawad KALASAG Seal for its unwavering commitment to safety, preparedness, and humanitarian assistance.
This prestigious recognition highlights the tireless efforts of the Victorias City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Retirado and his dedicated team, whose innovative strategies and steadfast dedication have set the standard for disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation, a press release from Victorias City said.
The award will be formally conferred during the Gawad KALASAG National and Regional Awarding Ceremony in Iloilo City on December 11.*
