UNegA general assembly set, 180 members taking oaths

More than 180 members of the United Negros Alliance are set to take their oaths at a general assembly at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum in Bago City Saturday morning, December 4, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, UNegA secretary general, said Friday.

He said the oath taking will be conducted to upgrade the UNegA records.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson of Love Negros will be attending the UNegA general assembly, he said.

Among UNegA’s members are Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, Rep. Leo Rafael Cueva (1st District), Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer (2nd District) and Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo (3rd District), six board members and 16 mayoral bets, 13 of whom are incumbent, Escalante said.

The Saturday gathering will be a general assembly and Christmas party, Escalante said.

A decision on whom UNegA will support for president is not on the agenda for Saturday, he added.

Escalante said the UNegA records at the Comelec in Manila are not complete because of a fire that hit its office. So they will take their oaths of allegiance again to update their records at the Comelec, he added.*
