Super Typhoon “Odette” damaged P475 million in farm animals and infrastructure, and P87,209 in crops in Negros Occidental, initial reports showed Friday, December 17.
Destroyed were animals, structures, buildings, water systems, generators, feeds and medicine, Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said.
Damage to broilers was P275 million, gamefowl – P25 million, layers – P50 million, piggeries – P75 million, semi commercial and provincial farms, cattle and goats – P25 million and backyard animals – P25 million, he said.
Damage to crops in Cauayan, Kabankalan City and Bago City was P87,209, an initial Office of Provincial Agriculturist report said.*
