Thousands join Negros Occidental ‘unity caravan’ for Marcos

Thousands of supporters of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. clad in red and waving flaglets joined a “Unity Caravan” in Bacolod City Sunday morning, November 28.

The caravan participants, shouting “BBM, BBM”, were on vehicles plastered with tarpaulins with photos of Marcos Jr., and decorated with red and green ribbons.

Organizers estimated the vehicles, which included a lot of motorcycles, that participated in the caravan that started in Talisay City in the north and Bago City in the south at from 3,000 to 5,000.

The police had no estimate of the number of vehicles that participated.

The caravan was in support of Marcos and his runningmate Sara Duterte as shown in their red and green ribbons, Aurora Blanca, Silent Majority BBM 2022 chairman, said.

She said they believe in the advocacy of Marcos and will not be distracted or swayed in their belief that he is the right president for the country, despite negative statements being hurled against him.

Blanca said she had no comment on recent statements made by President Rodrigo Duterte.

They see the positive side of Marcos and believe he can bring change and improve the economy, she said.

The “Unity Caravan” was composed of different groups supporting Marcos in Negros, many of whom got to know each other through social media, she added.

She said they drew participants to join the caravan through social media because they wanted to show the rest of the country that Marcos has supporters in Negros.

Blanca said her group is called Silent Majority BBM 2022 because many of its members work in government and cannot publicly come out.

They have different parallel groups with member’s provincewide, she said.

Blanca said they are holding another nationwide caravan for Marcos on November 28.

Marcos, in a press release, thanked the organizers for “voluntarily organizing the simultaneous events and for their sacrifices in being able to come up with a successful unity ride.”*
