Talisay, La Castellana named best destination pavilion champs

Talisay City and the municipality of La Castellana emerged as the top winners in the Best Destination Pavilion competition at the ongoing Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, securing the championship titles in their respective categories.

Rudy Reveche, the festival’s overall cultural head, confirmed the results on Friday, April 17, which saw both local government units (LGUs) taking home the top prize of P80,000 each.

Talisay was the champion in the city category, while Bacolod City was the 1st runner-up with a P60,000 prize, and Sipalay City was 2nd runner-up with P 50,000.

Cadiz City and Bago City rounded out the winners’ circle as 3rd and 4th runners-up, receiving P40,000 and P30,000, respectively.

In the municipal category La Castellana was the champion, while Calatrava secured the 1st runner-up spot with a prize of P60,000, followed by Manapla as 2nd runner-up with P50,000.

Murcia and Cauayan were named 3rd and 4th runners-up, taking home P40,000 and P30,000, respectively.

The Best Destination Pavilion contest remains one of the centerpieces of the annual “Festival of Festivals,” evaluating LGUs on their ability to showcase local tourism, culture, and products through creative architectural design and hospitality.

Meanwhile, sales at the festival on Thursday, its 4th day, continued to outpace that of 2025, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

Sales on the first four days of the festival from Monday to Thursday reached P13. 5 million, or P6.8 million more than in the same period last year, he said.

The festival sales on Thursday was P3.7 million or P1.7 million more compared to the P1.9 million sales in 2025, Diaz added.*
