Students with disabilities showcase talents at MassKara’s ‘PuWeDe G! 2.0’

Students from special education programs in Bacolod City showcased their talents in music, dance and other performances during PuWeDe G! 2.0, a MassKara Festival activity at Ayala Malls Capitol Central on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

In a press release, the event, organized in cooperation with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office and the Department of Social Services and Development, aims to provide children and young persons with disabilities a platform to showcase their skills, creativity and confidence.

Students from Handumanan Elementary School I SNED, Bacolod City SPED Center and Sum-ag Elementary SNED Center were among those who performed during the program.

Performances included solo singing, group dances and other presentations highlighting the talents of participating students.

A magic show by magician Kirby together with cosplayer Pat was also featured during the activity.

Organizers also conducted gift-giving and raffle activities, while a wheelchair was turned over as part of the program.

The celebration forms part of the MassKara Festival’s activities promoting greater participation and visibility for persons with disabilities.

Still lined up under PuWeDe G! 2.0 are the PWD Got Talent and Product Expo Competition, which will provide more participants opportunities to present their talents, skills and products.

The activity is co-presented by Hiraya Water Corporation Bacolod and forms part of the festival’s “Making MassKara Matter” program.*
