
A 68-year-old Small Town Lottery employee was found dead in a creek in Purok Mahidaeton, Brgy Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, early Sunday morning, Dec. 14.
Police identified the victim as a single male resident of Purok Maghirupay, Brgy Paraiso.
The Sagay City police said they received a report that the body was found at 7:55 a.m. prompting them to immediately respond.
Initial investigation revealed that a witness saw the victim at around 10 p.m. Saturday lying at a waiting shed while allegedly under the influence of liquor.
The police said the victim’s family disclosed that he was addicted to alcohol and was seen drinking prior to the incident.
Responding personnel from the Sagay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office noted that there were no signs of foul play or struggle on the victim’s body.
The victim was brought to the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead.
The Sagay City Police Station has requested a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.*
