The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) held the oath-taking and donning of ranks ceremony for PCol. Gaylord P. Tamayo at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, Friday, October 23.
Tamayo, currently serving as the chief of the Regional Education and Training Division, took his oath of office before PBGen. Rudecindo L. Reales, Regional Director of PRO NIR, who served as the administering officer.
Tamayo is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 2004
Reales extended his congratulations to Tamayo while emphasizing the added weight of senior leadership.
“Promotion is not simply about moving up in rank; it is about stepping up in responsibility,” Reales said, calling on the newly promoted colonel to “lead with competence, decide with courage, and serve with integrity”, Reales said.
Reales also recognized the role of Tamayo’s family in supporting his career and reminded him that genuine leadership is measured by the positive difference made in the lives of others, rather than the insignia on one’s uniform.*
