SP approves turnover of 2 hospitals’ management

The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved today, December 1, the deeds of usufruct for the Calatrava and Escalante hospitals, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said.

The two provincial government-run hospitals will be turned over to the local governments of Calatrava and Escalante to manage, he said.

The provincial government will just transfer financial assistance to them for the hospital operations, he said.

If this succeeds, the management of other provincial government-run hospitals by LGUs could take place, he said.

The SP also approved the appointment of Amy Grace Bolivar as the OIC treasurer of the Negros Occidental provincial government for one year, SP secretary Maki Ascalon said.

The Department of Finance designated Bolivar, city treasurer of San Carlos City, to the post effective tomorrow, December 2, in place of Provincial Treasurer Nilda Generoso whose mandatory retirement took effect today, December 1.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson had asked the SP to designate Bolivar as authorized signatory of depository accounts of the provincial government effective tomorrow, December 2.*
