A former police officer was arrested for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City, early Wednesday, November 19.
The incident happened around 1:10 a.m. when a security guard from DECA Homes Subdivision alerted authorities about a suspected carnapping, Bacolod City Police Station 9 reported.
The police arrested the 46-year-old suspect, a dismissed member of the PNP, who was accused of stealing a red-and-white Suzuki Raider FU belonging to a 19-year-old resident.
Investigators said the motorcycle had been parked outside the victim’s house when it was taken.
The vehicle was later recovered from the suspect and positively identified by the owner.
The suspect is detained at Police Station 9 w and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10883, or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.*
