It will be a red and green “show of force” for supporters of presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his runningmate Sara Duterte Carpio at their grand rally at the Bacolod reclamation area Wednesday afternoon, February 22.
A crowd of 80,000 from various parts of Negros Occidental will join the event to also be attended by the UniTeam senatorial bets, some of whom arrived on Tuesday, Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said.
Among those who arrived Tuesday were former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista, lawyer Larry Gadon and Deputy House Speaker Rodante Marcoleta, Ferrer said.
Others on the UniTeam senatorial line up are Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, Deputy House Speaker Loren Legarda, former senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, former Public Works chief Mark Villar, former presidential spokesman Harry Roque Jr., former defense chief Gilbert Teodoro, and former Information and Communications Technology secretary Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan.
A caravan will start at 3 p.m. Wednesday from in front of the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City and will head for Bacolod City.
Ferrer said Marcos will meet with Negros Occidental officials on arrival and with sugar leaders to discuss his programs for the sugar industry.
Former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is expected to join Marcos and his team during their visit to Negros.*
