Pork prices increasing

Pork prices in Negros Occidental have been increasing since September, a Philippine Statistics Authority report on Thursday, November 9, showed.

PSA records show that in the second half of October, the average price of pork kasim was at P302.17 per kilo, P13.34 higher than in the first half of the month when it was at P288.83.

Pork liempo’s price also increased by P13.33 in the second half of October at P314/kilo from the previous P300.67.

Pork with bones prices also went up by P15 from P290.83 to P305.83 in October, it said.

However, the average pork prices in the province remain to be the lowest in Western Visayas, except for pork meat with bones.

The current regional average of pork kasim is P316.45/kilo, pork liempo – P338.50/kilo, and pork meat with bones – P303.81.

Meanwhile, the average price of beef with bones in Negros Occidental is at P363.17/kilo, and pure meat beef is at P383.83/kilo.

Dressed chickens are at P198.33/kilo while medium-sized eggs are at P8.95 each.*
