PLO to act vs. traveler with fake RT-PCR results

The Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, resident who submitted a fake negative RT-PCR test result on his arrival at the Bacolod Silay Airport could face charges, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, December 9.

The traveler from Manila arrived at the Bacolod Silay Airport on Tuesday and will remain in quarantine in Himamaylan for 14 days, Diaz said.

He will be subjected to a RT-PCR test five days after his arrival at his own expense, Diaz added.

The police blotter of the Himamaylan resident has been forwarded to the Provincial Legal Office that will determine what charges to be filed, he said.

Meanwhile, Em Ang, Emergency Operations Center executive director, clarified that the four persons caught with fake Bacolod vaccination cards were not travelers from Manila but employees of a multinational firm.

She earlier said the four were travelers from Manila caught at the BREDCO Port but on clarification found out that they were employees of a multinational firm in the province.

Their employer would not allow them to enter their workplace unless they were fully vaccinated or had swab test results, so they presented Bacolod vaccination cards, she said.

The employer wondered why they presented Bacolod vaccination cards when their company has its own vaccination program, Ang added.

The firm’s human resource officer verified with the city government and they found that the four used fake vaccination cards, she said.

Ang said the documents of the four were forwarded the City Legal Office for action.*
