The City Hall construction at Araneta Street in Bacolod City*
The P525 million intended for the construction of a new Burgos public market has been realigned for five other city projects, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Monday, Nov. 11.
The funds were realigned after the market vendors rejected the construction of a new market, he said.
Benitez said P10 million will be used for the construction of a 1 hectare animal shelter in Barangay Granada that can accommodate up to 1,000 stray dogs.
Additional funds will are also be allocated for the completion of the following ongoing projects: legislative building – P250 million, City Hall at Araneta Street – P190M, City Health Complex – P60 million and Tree Park in Barangay Alangilan – P15 million.
Meanwhile, the groundbreaking for the underground cabling of the Negros Electric and Power Corp. wires at Lacson Street in Bacolod will be held on Wednesday, Benitez said.*
