
Two street-level drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded P408,000 worth of suspected shabu in Bacolod City early Sunday, May 17.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Angel,” 32, and alias “John,” 23, residents of Brgy. Alijis.
The operation was conducted by Police Station 2 at around 12:05 a.m. in Purok Narra Baybay, Brgy. 8.
Authorities said the suspects were not listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council watchlist.
Police confiscated about 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P408,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.
Meanwhile, about P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during the implementation of a search warrant in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, on Sunday night, May 17.
Authorities arrested the suspect identified only as alias “Daddy,” 56, who is considered a high-value individual in the police drug watchlist.
The operation was conducted at around 8:35 p.m. in Brgy. Calabnugan by joint operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-Negros Island Region, Sibulan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NIR Negros Oriental Provincial Office.
Recovered from the suspect were about 266.23 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,810,364.
The suspect is now under police custody.
Authorities are preparing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
