Over 2,100 policemen deployed in Negros for Labor Day security

More than 2,100 police personnel have been deployed across the Negros Island Region to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of Labor Day on Friday, May 1, authorities said.

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) said the deployment includes personnel from the Philippine National Police, augmentation units, and force multipliers.

The operation includes heightened visibility, establishment of checkpoints and border control points, and prepositioning of Civil Disturbance Management units and standby forces, the PRO NIR said.

Authorities added that all personnel were directed to observe maximum tolerance and adhere to operational procedures while respecting human rights.

PRO-NIR also said coordination has been strengthened with local government units and partner agencies to ensure a unified response during Labor Day activities.

Police urged participants and organizers to conduct activities in a peaceful and orderly manner.*
