Outstanding Talisaynons, top taxpayers honored

The Talisay City government honored outstanding Talisaynons and top tax payers during its 2025 Pasidungog Awards at Natures Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Feb 11.

Talisay Mayor Neil Lizards, with Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, handed the outstanding Talisaynon awards to three awardees.

The awards were given to Health Undersecretary Mary Ann Palermo Maestral for her work in the field of government service, Antonio Montinola for community development and philanthropy and Nature’s Village Resort for sustainable tourism.

Also honored were the following outstanding taxpayers for 2024:

Real property tax (corporate) – Ayala Land Inc., First Farmers Milling and Marketing, Filinvest Land Inc., Amaia Land Corp. and Avida Land Corp.;

Real Property Tax (Individual) – Romero Esteban. Maria Xenia Esteban, Nilo Lizares Jr., the estate of Lourdes Osmeña, and Saar and Juliet Arcenas;

Business tax (corporate): Kooll Company Inc., Metro Retail Stores Group Inc., Fairlane Automotive Ventures Inc., Wilcon Depot Inc. and First Farmers Holding Corp.; and

Business tax (Individual): Ralph Richard F. Tan (Campuestohan Highland Resort), Loretes R. Fernandez (LRF Department Store), Raymundo Juan H. Javellana (Nuts Berry Garden – The Ruins), Vien Carmelo C. Villa (Trimluv Builders and Supply), and Marvie G. Montemayor (Marvie’s Eatery and Catering Services.

Lacson, in his speech, congratulated the outstanding Talisaynons who have contributed to the growth and development of Talisay City.

“There is great honor in the earnest and conscientious fulfillment of duties in society, especially in a time when some regard such responsibilities as optional, ” he said.

Lizares said as Talisay celebrates its 27th Charter Day, they were honoring individuals and businesses who have exemplified excellence, dedication, and service to the community.

“The Pasidungog Awards are more than just a recognition, they are a testament to the unwavering commitment of Talisaynons who continuously strive for progress, inspire others, and contribute to the betterment of our city,” he said.

He told the Outstanding Talisaynon Awardees, their achievements serve as “a beacon of hope and motivation for the next generation”.

Also present at the affair were Talisay First Lady Rowena “Weng” Lopez Lizares and Vice Mayor Jose Nicolas Jalandoni III.*
